So, I am back in the US

So, I finally arrived in the US on Monday night. I already miss Mexico so much and I cant wait for the opportunity to return there. My experience was wonderful and I hope that everyone gets the chance to visit this beautiful country. The experience is definitely worth it. For now, I am enjoying my family and trying to adjust back to living in the US. This is my closing to this blog and I hope to blog about my future traveling adventures.

Last Day of Classes :(

So today,  I attended my  last day of classes at the UAG.  I am very excited to be going  home and seeing all my friends and family but I think I cried enough today for a lifetime about leaving here.  I will definitely be retuning  to Guadalajara which has become like a second home to me.  I was thinking about coming back for some time next summer or even next spring break.  With all that being said , this experience has been wonderful and  I would live to continue traveling and definitely want to travel back here.
So many things  happened these last two weeks. I went to the International Book Fair in Guadalajara. It is so amazing. They have books from all over the world, with some authors coming to present their work, as well as a lot of free concerts. I have went twice already and plan on going back tomorrow. I already bought six books, all in Spanish, that I am planning to read over the winter vacation.
As well as this, I have also went to an end of the year party that the university had for its students. It was really cool, we sang Christmas songs and ate tamales and got little gifts from the university.  We also took a class photo and I have been going to good bye parties this whole week. This week has definitely been very physically and emotionally exhausting for me with all of this but the say to smile because things have happened and don't cry because they are over and I have been blessed with this experience.
With that being said, I will leave you all with the pictures of the park that I promised from before (sorry), as well as a lot of pictures that I have from all the friends that I have made here.

(I have pictures from the park, me saying goodbye to friends, a nail design that I -picked out for the party, and pictures from the concerts and International Book Fair.)

I hope you all enjoyed reading and I will see you all very soon.

10 DAYS LEFT!!!

So I cannot believe that I only have ten days left of this trip. It is the most bittersweet feeling in the world. I am so excited to be home with my family for the holidays but I am so sad to leave this place, which is starting to feel like a second home to me. With such little time left here I have been doing last minute things that I always wanted to do. One thing was go to Parque Agua Azul which is a beautiful park here in Guadalajara that I just haven't had time to go to. I went there for several hours to walk around and to write.  I think the last things that I will be doing is buying gifts for loved ones at home, studying for my last set of finals at the Autonoma and reflecting on my experience. I am preparing for the Christmas party at the UAG amongst other things as well and I will let you all know how it goes.  There is a lot of things that I wanted to see here that I just didn't have enough time to do. I definitely plan on returning here to see it. For now though, I am so  happy and satisfied  about the  experience that I have had and I cant wait to share it all with you when I return. For now, I will leave you all with some pictures of my adventures.

Actualy I am having some trouble uploading the pictures so I will leave them in another blog post.

Trip to Michoacan-Dia de los Muertos

So this weekend I went to Michocan to see the Dia de los Muertos (Day of the Dead)  celebrations. Everyone that I talked to here told me that if I wanted to see the most traditional version of the holiday to go to Michocan. Let me just say that it is a beautiful state. First I want to mention that we went to Morelia, which is the capital, and it was like and old colonial town.  Our hotel was located here and I went to a club here on top of a mountain where you can see all of Morelia. The view is astonishing with all the lights and buildings of the city.  We also went to Patzcuaro which is a colonial style town with a lot of markets and an island in its lake. The island was called Janitzio I think. (The names get a little hard to remember).  In this island there was a market, food for the Day of the Dead, and a beautifully decorated cemetery. The cemetery are decorated with yellow flowers, candles, the food that the deceased person like, amongst many other things.  It is a really peaceful holiday that respects those that have passed on and welcomes their spirits back here. We also went to see some beautiful waterfalls here in Urupuan. Like the rest of the state, they were beautiful. I went with a group called Integrate Guadalajara so the whole trip was planned and organized before hand. If possible I would like to travel with this group again. So, I'll leave you all with pictures. A friend of mine also took a lot of pictures and if she passes them on to me I will share them with you all as well. Thanks for reading and I hope you all enjoy your weeks.

I have included a link with information about the Day of the Dead below if you all would like to read it.
